L’Hospice – mairie

En 1855, M. Trinchot fit don de ses biens pour la création d’un hôpital-hospice et d’une école de jeunes filles.

Ce n’est qu’en 1881 que sera bâti cet hôpital sur l’ancien champ dit de l’Abbesse. Les soins y étaient assurés par les sœurs Sainte Anne de Saumur. Ce bâtiment a aujourd’hui perdu sa destination première puisqu’il s’agit de la mairie actuelle, l'hospice ayant été transféré vers la maison de retraite.

The Hospice – Town Hall
In 1855, Mr Trinchot donated his property for the creation of a hospital-hospice and a school for girls.
It was not until 1881 that this hospital was built on the former field known as the Abbesse. Care was provided there by the Sisters of Saint Anne of Saumur. Today, this building has lost its original purpose, as it is now the town hall, the hospice having been transferred to the retirement home.
