Arboretum

Situé Chemin du 19 mars 1962,  l’arboretum de Saint Jean de Thouars a été créé en 2008

Implanté sur une ancienne carrière comblée à l'aide du remblai issu des travaux de la nouvelle école, cet espace paysager offre aux Saint Jeantais un parc de 6000 m2 doté d'allées et de bancs.

 53 arbres de 50 espèces distinctes  ont été plantés. L’opération a été réalisée par l'ensemble des élèves de l'école Bonneval de la maternelle au CM2, aidés par les employés municipaux.

Le choix a été fait de privilégier les essences locales et régionales.

Les fiches explicatives  ont été réalisées sous la houlette de leurs professeurs.

Arboretum

Located on Chemin du 19 mars 1962,  the arboretum of Saint Jean de Thouars was created in 2008

Located on an old quarry filled with the backfill coming from the works of the new school, this landscape area offers the inhabitants a park of  6000 m2 with lanes and benches.

 53 trees of  50 different species were planted. The operation was achieved by all the pupils of the Bonneval school, from nursery school classes to the last class of the primary school. The pupils were helped by municipal employees..

Local and regional species were favoured.

The explaining signs were made thanks to the help of the school teachers.
